There is noticeably lots of money to learn about this. I suppose you might have produced certain good points in functions also.

This doesn’t cost that much to learn except for the time and energy to it takes to get good. For now I only teach rehabilitation clinicians.

Aw, this really is an extremely nice post. In thought I would like to put in place writing like this moreover – spending time and actual effort to create a excellent article… but exactly what do I say… I procrastinate alot through no indicates seem to get something accomplished.

I wish more people who have taken my classes would write up articles too. I have heard so many great reports on patients with vestibular, head injury and other diagnoses who have benefitted. Even children. I wish they would publish as it would be nice to get the word out beyoned MS.

You actually make it seem really easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be really something that I think I would by no means understand. It seems too complicated and very extensive for me. I am looking forward on your subsequent publish, I will attempt to get the cling of it!

Sometime this looks easy but it is not easy to understand. In our next phase of the NIH grant we will try to understand who is being helped with Balance-Based Torso-Weighting (BBTW). What types of symptoms do people have in common who get a lot of benefit from BBTW. Are there a subset of people who do not benefit? What do they look like? We will study 60 people with MS this year to see if there is a connection between them.

Nice Post…

The quality of an individual’s life is in immediate proportion to their dedication to quality, regardless of their picked field related to project.- Vince Lombardi

I use Vince Lombardi’s quotes in the class that I teach in Balance-Based Torso-Weighting:BBTW.
“Practice doesn’t make prefect…perfect practice makes perfect.” I believe this to be true especially when trying to imprint movement and balance. If a patient moves with poor movement/coordination/balance over and over their neurological system learns incorrect movement patterns and perhaps negative neuroplasticity.
With BBTW the patient is rebalanced and many times more coordinated movement patterns emerge. If the person wears the BalanceWear orthosis/orthotic for hours each day their body moves in better ways for longer periods of time we often see positive change in the neurological system. We do see patient’s ability and coordination improve with the devices. Some times they can wean off.
Have a great day!

Hey miss Cindy! Steve Ofca here. Please forgive me but I need the address to whom ever you need me to mail the consent form too. Blessings from the East coast!
Steve O.

Hi there Steve,
I must admit that your letter to us made me cry. I have never had such a thoughtful, well written, engaging letter than yours. I will post it up on our site once I receive your release.
Warmly,
Cindy

Cindy,
release is in the mail! Please feel free to contact me anytime! I’ll be in NYC at the IMSMP with Dr. Andrew Slyvester M.D. and Dr. Kanter, PT, DPT, ATC on 9/20/12. I’m hoping to have my balance wear to bring with me so he (Dr. Kanter) can zero in on the exact weight and location on my body so to have ultimate performance for a quality of life that I once took for granted. It was only by losing it did I realize how precious balance and strength was so immensely important to my life and to my family and friends! I will keep in constant contact with you and your team on my progress! I hope that others who may feel trapped in a disability will experience a new sense of freedom and hope that they too can have these gifts back in their lives; and to share this blessing which you and all others on your awesome team are giving me. May others “pay it forward” as so to touch all their families and friends. In unconditional love and service,
Steve O.

Thanks so much Steve. There is money for vests for people in need through MSF.
Cindy

HI Steve,
Dr. Steve Kanter has to contact us with measurements and the number of weights prior. Can you give him a call and have hime contact me. Cindy@motiontherapeutics.com

It is very clear to me that one needs good balance as it is the foundation for many coordinated movements.

Keep in touch and enjoy Labor Day weekend.

Cindy

Very good info. Lucky me I ran across your website by chance (stumbleupon).
I have saved as a favorite for later!

Thank you. Glad to hear we are on Stumbleupon! We are trying to keep people from stumbling and losing their balance. Please see our twitter (BalanceWear_MTI) and facebook( BalanceWear Stabilizing Garment)accounts. I tweet alot.

Cindy has passion and drive for what she believes in which is why I am walking with a sense of confidence and humble pride; heads up~ shoulders back. My life once was looking dim as far as my health AKA: Balance as an example. Having MS has a few challenges to say the least! Cindy’s drive for helping others IS touching not just my soul but, many others along her path which is like throwing a huge rock in the pond of life~ the POSITIVE rippling effects go out way farther than what she may be aware of and for this, thank you is not enough for this man to say to Cindy. So, this is only one way I show my gratitude to her and the team of professionals she has assembled in supporting her dream and visions on how she can/ is help others.

I visit each day a few websites and blogs to read posts, however this weblog gives feature based articles.

HI There,
Yes I try to write about patient experiences with BalanceWear. Thanks for your comment.

I’m walking so much better these days due to BalanceWear! The carry over is so amazing! I can do steps now without railings! First time in in 3 years I can say that! Thanks to all who are making this available!

Hi Cindy, my husband Tyrone Chang, age 65 had a stroke on November 4, 2012. He sustained a nontraumatic brain injury related to his suboccipaital craniotomy with hematoma evaculation and resection of AVM. Because of his Ataxia, Ty has balance issues which makes him even more determined to “beat the odds”
Tyrone’s P.T., Vanessa Henriksen at Park Shadeland Kaiser Rehap facility felt strongly that your remarkable weighted vest may just be something that can help him with his balance.

Since Ty likes wearing a vest anyways as sweaters, etc. makes him too hot, so, he was curious to see how Balance Wear would work for him.

To be honest, being a caregiver to my husband is a full-time and a half job and we have not had the time to go into all the information you have on your website, but, slowly, we’re getting there.

With Warm Regards,
Lorraine Chang

Dear Ms. Chang,
I am looking forward to meeting you Monday night at the class I am teaching. I am hoping BalanceWear will be helpful for your husband. The students -PT’s and OT’s will be assessing his directional stability. We will be applying weights to change his directional loss. We should have an idea what will change for him Monday night. Wishing you and your husband the best of luck with this treatment.
Cindy

I will right away snatch your rss feed as I can’t find your email subscription hyperlink or newsletter service. Do you’ve any? Kindly permit me understand in order that I could subscribe. Thanks.

Hi there,
Please see our website http://www.motiontherapeutics.com

hello!,I love your writing so so much! shall we keep up a correspondence more about your article on AOL? I require an expert in this space to unravel my problem. Maybe that is you! Looking ahead to see you.

I got a vest I gained some weight I want a larger one. Can you help me ?

HI Elsie,
You will need to go back to Judith. I believe she fitted you. She may be able to expand the sides so it fits better:)
Cindy

You will need to check with the PT who got it for you.

Hello, after reading this amazing paragraph i am too glad to
share my know-how here with friends.

Thanks so much David. Please see BalanceWear Stabilizing Garment on Facebook under Cindy Horn. I post there too.
Cindy

Hi there, after reading this remarkable piece of writing
i am also glad to share my experience here with colleagues.

Thank you so much!

I’m now on the waiting list to see therapist who will fit me with Balance Wear vest. Hope he will find some opening soon in his busy schedule- I would go to another therapist certified for that but they already took the prescription and dealt with insurance. And I had 2 sessions there already but I don’t think we are close to finding the right placement. I wish you lived closer but from me (living close to Philadelphia) to you is quite a distance…( and I avoid flights). Í found that place at Motion Therapeutics site–will explore it now. (btw the vest is a blessing! Worth to wait for!)

Anna- I am willing to Skype with the therapist. Have them call me. I hope you are better than you were before. If you are, your body is still learning and can get better with the posistion the weights are. When you see the other therapist do not wear your BalanceWear for 4 days so he has the ability to see your body without any input or carryover. Sometimes moving the a weight 1/8 of an inch is all it takes.
Your comments really help me make our BalanceWear the best it can be:)
Hugs,
cindy

Cindy – how great that vest is I know from the first session: one weight and IMMEDIATE relief from what I call ” inner shaking” it is body’s constant attempts to find balance when I stand without holding to anything. When I hold to something it is ok, I guess my body needs to have some steady point in space. Unfortunately the second session was with someone else who was quite inexperienced and unable to recreate it.

I really think that not 80 but 100 percent of people with balance problems would benefit from such vest– the point however is that for 20 percent a good placement was not found…

Thank you for offering to Skype with the therapist–the problem is I am still waiting for when he has time to see me.i do not see him a I do not have any vest now. It hasn’t been built yet. Because he was the one who had the first session with me I think he has a ” feel” for it so I’d rather wait for him than go to someone less experienced.

Thank you for Balance Wear .Incredibly simple and great!

Please, please help me find it how I can get and be fitted for one of these weighted vests. I have had MS for 20 years and the dizziness and imbalance is constant. This looks like the answer to many prayers!

Hi Cindy, Please contact me at Cindy@motiontherapeutics.com Let me know where you live and I can see if there is someone near you for you to go and try BalanceWear.

My son’s neurologist gave him a script for a balance vest in October, 2015. I took it to his PT/OT center which is strictly for MS patients, they told me they were looking into this therapy. It is now January, 2016 and we do not have the vest. I went on your web site and sent a message for a site in or near Philadelphia, PA. so my son can be fitted for a vest. So far, I received information from another MS patient who has a balance vest. My question is, are they all the same? Can you just acquire one online and experiment yourself, or should you be fitted. Are they custom fit to the patient? My son is so excited to get one he wants it yesterday. Please give me the name of a therapy center he can go to close to my home. Thank you so much for helping so many people who are impaired with balance issues. My son was diagnosed in 2010 with MS and he has had balance and walking issues since then. It is negatively impacted his quality of life. Thanks for any information.
Janet L. Swaim
Philadelphia, Pa janetlswaim@gmail.com

Hi Janet,
Thanks for contacting us. We have several places nearby Philly- Please call 888-330-2289 to get a few choices. Please let his current therapist know that we will be having a class in March in the Philly area to learn how to assess and fit BalanceWear. When a patient gets a referral for BalanceWear they are first tested in balance and gait activities. Then they are put through a systematic assessment of postural control (BalanceWear Assessment). During the assessment the clinician determines the patient’s specific directional balance loss of the upper and lower torso. Small weights are placed on an assessment kit that is on the patient’s trunk. After the strategic weighting process if finished certain balance and gait tests are repeated to see if the patient improves. If there is improvement in the testing a custom sized BW Vest is ordered. A few sessions are needed to determine if it is beneficial. Best wishes for a great New Year. I hope to hear back that your son is doing well with BalanceWear:) If your therapist is interested have her contact me directly at Cindy@motiontherapeutics.com Tell her to stop by our booth at CSM if she is going.

Why aren’t you guys in a huge metro area in Dallas,Texas! But you’re in some Podunk town of Round Rock, Texas? I would think if this vest really works why not open an office in Dallas? Makes me wonder if it’s that good of item. Am nowhere near Round Rock. jsballinger60@yahoo.com I have cerebellar ataxia. Thanks.

Hi Joseph,
I actually tried to do a presentation at the Ataxia Center a few years back when I was in Dallas for a Multiple Sclerosis meeting. It got cancelled by the ataxia clinic the day I was scheduled unfortunately. The best way to get BalanceWear in your area is to talk with the PT’s or docs about it. We train clinicians who are interested. At this point no one in the Dallas area has called us. We wish there were more interested clinicians. Texas is missing out on a great treatment. Help us help YOU!
Best,
Cindy

Hello Cindy,

That is absolutely hard to fathom! Would you know of any clinicians in the Dallas area? I have a appointment with a neurologist on 9-1-16 at UT Southwestern.

Hello Cindy, I have an appointment on September 1st of this year with a neurologist at UT Southwestern. I called her office yesterday and mentioned you and Balance wear and the office indicated while they were looking you and balance wear up n their pc that once they saw me they would write a script for the vest. But how would you train her on the tiny magnets and how and where to position them? 3 months away but am getting excited. Thankfully the ataxia is only affecting my balance. Speech is ok just needing to use a walker. I pray it gets no worse.

Has BalanceWear been researched in kids? I’ve see the incredible affects that it has on adults and I was looking to share some information regarding BalanceWear in pediatrics to my clinic at an upcoming inservice. Please let me know if you have any information for me!

Again, are we still required to make the trip to Roundrock, Tx to be fitted as I no longer drive lengthy trips.
