“People with Multiple Sclerosis show improved gait with Balance-Based Torso-Weighting,” will be presented in a poster on April 26th at the 64 th American Academy of Neurology Annual Conference. It is great to see that our research is getting out to neurologists who often see people with MS. We hope they will pay attention to this non invasive treatment that improves gait. I am the person who does all the strategic weighting in this NIH grant. The strategic weights are placed to counter 3-D loss of balance. We will be reporting the GaitRite information on improved gait speed, decreased double limb stance and improved single leg stance during gait. These are indicators of improvement in stability. Each subject spent on average two hours in the lab to do all pre intervention and post intervention trials. Thus we are reporting same day results.
