Spino Cerbellar Ataxia SCA

Just returned home from Ireland where I saw a gentleman with Spino Cerebellar Ataxia. Immediately the same day we made changes in his walking. Prior to Balance-Based Torso-Weighting his legs were about three feet apart and outside his three-wheeled walker. Once BBTW was applied his legs were 18 inches apart and inside the walker! In the past two weeks he has gotten better with standing from initial 5-10 seconds, five days later 30 seconds. Ten days post initial intervention standing balance has improved to two minutes. Sit to stand is easier too. 25 foot walk went from 14 sec to 12 sec. His wife reports improvement in the ability to perform his exercises also.
